New brag book

This is a project over at Card Making Paradise.

Sheel's folded book challenge!

Sheel's lovely brag book is a really easy project to make and can be for any occasion. It can be as simple or elaborate as you like.

I made mine pretty simple as it is for hubby. Come join the fun...
This was the first time Felix went fishing with his daddy and papa. And like most kids he was board fast, and wanted to have fun by throwing rocks. LOL Little boys, rocks and water, some things they just never out grow. ha ha ha...

Another painted face

Felix decided he needed his face painted again. He really liked the leopard so that is what we did.
He even roared while down on all fours. LOL I'm going to miss him when he goes home today.

Anniversary card

This is the card that went with the cake. The flowers are similar in color and shape, but not quite as pretty as the ones on the cake. Well the red ones anyway. The flowers are made from the paper clay.
Hydrangeas are hand colored with pastels. So much fun too, I love it!
Didn't even dawn on m it is the shape of a heart  LOL
Oh well I hope they have a great time, they are very nice people.

I'm off to bed, see you tomorrow, XO Nana

Today was a play day with the Grandson and Niece

I had promised them face painting. So today I got to paint their happy little faces.

Want to see?

Felix was undecided.. I want, this , no that, um... So we looked at pictures and he decided he wanted a Minion from Despicable Me. LOL
I wasn't sure so did a small one on his had first.
Sorry it isn't real good. Then he said i want one on my face too.
My Whole face!!!
There is my Little man. LOL
And below is my Niece Bug.

Bug is short for Beautiful Unique Girl.
Cute huh... They are almost a year apart.
And love spending time together.
Have a good day, XO Nana

First in a long time...

We have our little man for the week, Yeah!!! We have been missing him, hard to go from everyday to once in a while seeing him. He played with his cousin while I played in the kitchen.

This is my first cake in a very long time, without my cake supplies to boot. LOL Used what mom had on hand and I did buy a couple of things. As all of my cake making stuff is still at the old house.

It is Vanilla cake, Swiss Butter cream Frosting (first time to make this) and a mixture of seedless Raspberry jam and Lemon Curd filling. Our next door neighbors anniversary is this weekend and we wanted them to know how much we love them. They have been so much help to mom and dad. Best  neighbors they have ever had. I will be making their card next. So stay tuned...

Letter to the Editor of The Eugene Register Guard

I'm sending this letter to the Editor of the Eugene Register Guard. I hope the people that were involved read it and get the point.

Stop being stupid!

My mom and I went to town and did some shopping at Walmart and as we were leaving an older gentleman was in the car next to ours tapping on the window and waving us over. I looked into the car and he said "Help me I'm locked in..." He was drenched with sweat and breathing hard.

I immediately called 911 and reported it, as the officer was repeating the plate an older woman came out and said "What's wrong with my car?" Mom said nothing's wrong with the car it's the man in the car.  She said "Oh he's fine..."

I told the dispatcher his wife just showed up, he said okay, but if they need an ambulance call right back.

The gentleman wanted to call for the ambulance as he said he was about done in. Another woman came by and said "What's wrong I gave him water?"  (found out it was his daughter)

I was so mad I could have spit! YOU don't treat a dog like this you sure as heck don't treat another human being like this. Especially one you are suppose to love. They had one window down about 2-3 inches, red car sitting in full sun and it was about 70F or so out, so figure the car was close to 100F. He said "I've been here all afternoon..."  The wife said "No you weren't! It was 1:30 pm when we got here. He asked what time it was and I looked and it was about 2:18 pm. I asked again, "Do you want me to call for an ambulance?" The woman said "He's fine"  He wanted one but was afraid of a big bill, I said you don't have to go anywhere just let them make sure you're okay. He said yes she said no... then he said oh maybe not.. I looked at the daughter and told her to call 911 right back if they need to as they knew where they were and could check him out. She said she would if they needed to.  We left in tears, I hurt for him and made me miss my dad even more.

I'm still so stinking mad I can hardly believe it... They need to appreciate this poor old man, I don't care what his health is, you don't leave anything living in a hot car! I'm so thankful they came out when they did or he might not been alive if they had waited much longer. I truly hope this gentleman is alright. I did some looking into temps in cars left in the sun, here is one site. http://www.4rkidssake.org/Vehicleheatstudy.htm  This is only on kids not on adults or animals. And This poor man was wet with sweat when I touched him and was breathing hard. I wanted to call 911 back and ask if they could track down the car and check on him..

I am worried about a very sweet old man that was locked in a car, and his wife was more concerned about her stinking car....

People... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... Don't leave anyone or anything living in your vehicle, it really doesn't take that long to have a very serious problem on your hands, and who wants to be blood guilty of anything?

New medium to play with

Here is a little glimpse of what I've been doing last week. Craft wise...

I found some of this at Goodwill for 1.99 so thought I might give it a go..
It is a paper type clay that is very light weight and will air dry.
This is what I came up with
I used a rolling pin and got it as thin as I could and used a fondant / gum paste
flower cuter to cut and emboss them. The buds are just done by hand.
And here they are colored and ready to use

I saw something interesting the other day in the paper craft isle.
Frosting leaves made of a paste for cards and scrap booking. By Martha S.
So guess what is next to go with these flowers.
I have paste and I know how to pipe leaves so...
Stay tuned hopefully I can get some cards made soon
and will post a picture of them used.

Have a great day

Roses- Just for Lynn

A feast for your eyes... These are a couple of roses mom has, the pig pink bush has been here longer than we have and we have been here for 40 years. There is a light almost white one behind this one. But the pink one is so pretty and very fragrant. The big bloom rose is on the back side of the house and so lovely to look at. Finely got the grass down so we can enjoy the roses. LOL The grass was over 4 foot tall in most places. All 3 mowers were down at the same time... Get one going and then just as we get another one the first quits... Ahhhggg.... Oh well... Enjoy the pictures. XO Nana
