And life goes on...

Well it has been a while since I have made a post. A short update for the last few months.

My sister had a stroke in August. Have had her daughter and bird every since.

My cousin is back and living with us all here at the funny farm ;-) Her little Lucy dog had to be let go a couple of weeks ago. Now Baxter is lonely, even though there is 2 other dogs in the house.

Mom is getting a total knee replacement in a couple of weeks.

Good news on Bug, her knee isn't broken after her fall at school. And I need and MRI to see if I need surgery on my thumb after my fall 2 moths ago.

The trailer is half demolished... I can't due anything due to my hand and I am so sick of looking at the mess!

And tomorrow is my paternal Dad's funeral. And I can't go.. I feel so bad for my step Sister as she is having to deal with all of this on her own. And I hope family (down there) is supporting her and not causing problems. I truly appreciate all she has done for our dad over the years.

I was so tickled when she told me dad gave her the house, as my sister (DP) and I don't want to live in California. She deserves it for all the help she gave dad & Bet all her life. Granted we all need help at times and it is nice to have parents who care and can help. But... and this is a BIG one, just because one sibling is given something doesn't mean the other(s) aren't loved or cared for. Each is given by their need and ability.
I know there is always 2 sides to every story. Deb told me her side. And I know Rob has his. But I will say this for Rob, he has always come across as self righteous and arrogant, but he can be a love at times too. (can't we all) I know he has worked hard to get where he is and for what he has. But to complain about his sister getting something because he didn't. Come on, grow up and put the big boy pants on. You said everything you have is better than what dad has or had. So why should you get anything extra just so you can sell it??? I don't understand.

Dad inherited you both when he married your mom and he treated you both fairly. He loved you as he did my sister and me. And it was his right to give Deb the house. And to demand part of the land or you wouldn't go see your dying mother... shame on you! That is something between you and your god. I know I wouldn't want to be in your shoes.

Well I need to get off my soapbox and see to the family. Maybe things will take a turn soon. And for that big turn- I am awaiting with excitement and hope.

A little bit of crafting time

Wish it was for fun and not a necessity. I was informed last week my real fathers only sister died. I feel kind of bad as she had no other family to speak of. Dad has dementia and doesn't even know who we are anymore. Life...
Then got another call and hubby wonderful Uncle Jack died. I feel bad there too as I am not able to make the trip either way. One is in California and the other in Idaho. Hubby will be going, he will pick up our youngest son to go with him. As he is at the halfway make to going he will stay the night with him and his wife and then go on to Idaho.
I used a new file from Card Making Paradise. I love Sara's files... And she is such a sweetie too.
This one is a rubber stamp with a new idea for me anyway. It is stamped with Versa mark and heat embossed with white powder then water colored. Set on double frames and set on card. Not too bad for first try. Just wish it was for a different reason!
Still am waiting for better pictures of the wedding cake I did as soon as I get them I will post about it. At least it is a happier occasion.

I made a card, well 2 actually

One for hubby's sister that fell and sprained one foot and broke the other.. Poor lady had to have surgery to fix the broken one. So now that she doesn't have a leg to stand on and knowing hubby's sense of humor. I chose a cute digi by Bird I have had it for some time and knew it would be used someday. Hope she likes it.

Well I finely did it...

Well the fun of having chickens has it's ups and downs... We had a young roo that was hurting the girls. So he is no longer among the flock. I had no idea a home raised chicken would taste so much better than store bought. From this----
 To this----
And he browned up so nice I forgot to take a picture after it was done as we were hungry and it smelled so good. I think free range and organic feed is paying off. We still have one roo left and he is very protective of the girls. His name is Rudy2 lol

His long tail feathers are gone due to a hawk. I can't do anything about the hawk, but Rudy2 can. And he does he calls out a certain scream when the hawk is around. So we can wave our arms and scream at him and that seams to make him go away for a while.

My First Diaper Cake

We have a friend that is having a baby boy soon. So mom and I went in together and this is what I made.

This is a bag of folded clothes and one of the Onsies is rolled and tied into a puppy, his ears are baby socks, with a button nose and googly eyes.
Thanks for stopping by...
